- Sooji - 1 cup
- Ghee - 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Salt - a pinch
- Dried Fruits (almonds, cashewnuts and raisins) - 1/2 cup
- Saffron - optional
Method:
- In a pan, add ghee and saute the dried fruits on a very low heat to a slightly brown colour and remove from pan
- Add sooji and fry it on a low flame till it changes to brown
- Add sugar and mix
- Immediately add water to avoid lumps
- Add saffron dissolved in water
- Add salt
- When all the water is absorbed, put off the flame and cover it with lid for few minutes
