Dear readers, I know while you logged onto my page a brand new header was infront to welcome you. Yes, this is the design that I finally decided and worked upon, hope you like it. The other day I was searching for some easy to make snacks recipe when I stumbled upon this particular snack on Fauzia's Kitchen Fun Website. Its really an easy to make recipe and you will be surprised to see the flakiness in it. It was not too sweet, ideal for my family's preference. Let's see below on how to make it.....
It was one of those afternoons, when Amaan has just arrived from school. I don't know what struck him, he entered the kitchen, took the bowl in which I whisk eggs and the hand blender. He started whisking the empty container and after 10 minutes of doing so broke it and alas it made its way to the garbage. This shows that his passion in whisking and mixing cake batters is more than me, as you can see in the pic, hahahaha.... This post is for all the new bakers like me, who are passionate of baking but their results do not come out well. Try this simple tea cake with detailed instructions, and I promise you that it is a no fail recipe. This particular recipe was handed over to me by Huma who blogs at Gheza-e-Shiriin. Thanks once again dear.

Last week I was having a chit chat at my neighbour's home. There was an upcoming 3rd birthday celebration of their kid, so we were planning on the guest list and the menu for a small house party. As we were jotting down the list of items like the cake, snacks and dinner, the thought of JUST EAT struck me, as I had received their email just a few days back. Using their App on my iPad, we logged onto the website and clicked on Bangalore Restaurants. We then searched for our locality and there we got a list of all our favourite food outlets. We immediately clicked on our desired bakery and ordered the cake and some snacks in advance, setting the date and time for it to be delivered. Then we selected the restaurant from where we placed the order for vegetarian and then again another one for non-veg menu.
- An extensive variety of restaurants listed on their website - JustEat.in (2,500+)
- You can pay by cash or by card, it's totally upto you - whichever you find more convenient
- When paying online, more often than not you get a chance of availing one of the super discounts on offers through their online coupon codes
- JustEat has food ordering apps not only on iPhone and iPad, but also on Android and Windows 8 platforms, which make ordering food for home delivery much simpler
Now coming to the surprise, JustEat has offered 3 vouchers of Rs. 200/- each for the readers of The Recipes of India and we thought what better way to give it, after you have sent us such nice baked goodies. We have received 9 entries till now, and using Random.org, we selected 3 lucky winners.....
Check this link Guest Posts to find if your serial number matches with the winning numbers here.
Winners please check your emails, I have sent you the voucher coupons.

Hello friends, I am with a guest post again, I know its happening back to back.... :). About a week ago I had received an email from Linda Rosario who is a chef and blogger at ChefNeeds based in New York, expressing her desire to do a guest post on my blog. A few emails up and down and here I'm with her post. Thanks a lot Linda for this kind gesture. What she has sent today is Macadamia Nut Encrusted Halibut - for your information I'm providing you the meaning of the words in it. Macadamia is a kind of edible nuts and Halibut is a fish. Let's see what she has to say....
Hi there, just came across your blog and I was very much impressed with how you engage your readers into reading and gaining more knowledge from the blog posts that you are writing about. Your passion in writing and your desire to influence people through your writing emanates in every blog post. I honestly fell in love with your blog and I am already a big fan of it.

Today I am going to make one
of my favorite dishes and I promise you that this meal will taste super wicked
and you will always remember it not because of the name but rather because of
the unique taste of the halibut combined with the encrusted nuts.
These days I seem to be doing everything in a hurry, mostly because I'm not able to access anything during the day time. So, there is a rush in the morning to do a post and then again in the evening to check the status and catching up with everyone... :). Today I'm back again with a guest post. I've got a very talented food blogger from Sri Lanka - Sharanya who blogs at Just Not the Cakes, yes the name of the blog suggests it all. Just few days back she had sent me a message on facebook showing her interest for the guest post, I immediately agreed and checked with her if she can do it in a day or two as a surprise was on the way for guest blogging on my page. She agreed to it and just in two days time she sent me this wonderful recipe yesterday night. I'm not able to keep it in waiting and here it comes piping hot..... Let's see what she has brought in for us.......
I am really happy to post this recipe and get featured as a guest blogger in Razina’s Blog. When she said it should be a baked goodie , I was literally confused which baked recipe should I send as a guest post . Then I found this Cauliflower crust pizza will be interesting to be posted as a guest post.
Hey guys, after all your guest postings of yummy baked goodies, I'm presenting today a Zebra Cake as a treat for all of you. This is my second successful baking attempt, the first being a simple tea cake, which I'm yet to share. This recipe is adapted from here to the T. Though mine has not come out so well in shape, but it tasted yummy. The top part had become a bit dark, so I had just scrapped it off. Nevertheless, the entire experience of making was good, right from mixing the batter, dropping it in the baking pan, seeing it spread to the sight of the lovely final product. Do have a look at it and let me know if its done well....
The day I posted Jhajariya recipe, ie., about a month back, it performed normally and got the average views hit that all posts of mine gets. After a week, I was shocked to see it on the top of my weekly as well as all time popular post (and it still does so...), immediately I scanned my stats and was surprised to see that this particular post of mine has crossed 1,000+ hits in just 10 days time and not only that it still gets an average hit of 15-20 views per day, standing at 1,400+ views as of today. Well that is a big big number for me, how about you all?????
Hahaha, I know that was quite a heavy dose of number crunching, so I'm leaving you with this simple recipe for today - Stir Fry Okra with Onions or Bhindi Pyaaz Waali.....

Hi friends, it's 11.12.13 today and I'm very excited as it is also the first time that my recipe is getting featured on a different blog. Yes, you guessed it right, it's my first guest post happening at Aara's space, Sweets & Spices. I was very humbled when I saw an invitation message from her on facebook. She keeps inviting bloggers as well as non-bloggers as guest and I have come to know many new food bloggers through her. It became very difficult for me to decide on what to offer her, as all her recipes are so unique in itself with a twist. So finally after much thought I decided to give her Dahi Murgh or Yoghurt Chicken, hope you all will like it...
I have been eating out for the past 3 days in a row, and just not keeping so well and feeling dizzy. Some or the other things came up and we ended up hogging all the junks. Though I'll be all excited when eating out as I get a kitchen holiday but then it takes on my health. So today I'm here with a very simple dish, Zeera Rice or Zeera Pulao, which I usually make when I'm not in mood of preparing the normal plain rice. Do have a look friends....
Friends, the recipe that I'm sharing today is not prepared in my home regularly instead just once in a year. The reason being very simple as the dislike for karelas/bitter gourd is very common. I make it only on Eid-ul-Adha when I've got excess meat on hand.... ooooops, yes u got it right, once again a recipe from my drafts folder getting published, hahaha.. :). There are many ways for preparing these qeema bhare kareley, but the way I make it gives two types of taste in a single dish, you get qeema kababs popping out from the karelas and qeema masala in the gravy. The outcome does not have any hint of bitterness of the karelas, the process of which I've mentioned in the recipe below. Hope you all will enjoy this post....
Mutton Shami Kabab is a very famous kabab preparation in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Made with minced meat, chana daal and whole lot of spices, the end product is melt in the mouth. These kababs are my all time favourite as it is easy to make and tastes delicious. In UP, people have it even for breakfast with roti and also take them for their afternoon lunch. Its also taken as side dish with daal, roti and rice. Let's see how to make these yummilious kababs....
Yet again I have to admit that my series 'Guest Post - Baking' is
running as expected. I have had got lovely treats through this series.
There are some blogger friends who had voluntarily sent me guest post to help me out with my baking skills. One of those
was Rafeeda and today I have Huma Kalim who blogs at Gheza-e-Shirin.
Thank you girls for your wonderful contributions!!! Gheza-e-Shirin is Food cooked with Sweetness and Love,
I love that tag line, Huma. Her blog has got a collection of all her
signature dishes with the detailed recipes and perfect pictures. Kudos to her, who inspite of having a full time career, manages to cook, click
and share her secret recipes on her blog so that new learners like me
can learn.... :). Welcoming you to my little space and lets see what she
has to say......
Thanks Razina for the invitation to guest post at your wonderful
space & a big hello to the readers of The Recipe of India. I am Huma from
the blog Gheza-e-shiriin.
I am not an active blogger but juggling between my work schedule
& home. Started my blog nearly two years back to vent out my stress
of the daily routine. When Razina started this series, I promised her to
give a post that was two months back I think. So here I am. And sorry
dear to keep you waiting.
Today I am sharing with you the chicken curry tarts. I consider
this is the best twist you can give to your left over chicken curry. And
that too prepared in few minutes.
This post is dedicated to all the Sachin Tendulkar's Fans around the world. The picture you see on the right is a Digital Autograph of him for my page, thanks BCCI for launching such a campaign in honor of the legend and giving millions of fans around the world to have his personalized autograph. Ok, as you already are well versed with the hit shots and the records he has created, but I do not know if you are aware of his other side too. Yes, the Master Blaster is a bonafide foodie!!! His love for food is so much that he has dawned the chef's hat at many times. He is a big fan of Japanese cuisine, loves seafood and even adores simple maa ke haath ka khana too. He has also fallen in love with Pakistani cuisine on his tours to the country. In his debut test match in Pakistan at the age of 16, he used to have Qeema Parathas and lassi for breakfast, which would keep him going throughout the day.
Instead of making it into Parathas, I had made these Qeema Kachoris yesterday and thought of sharing with you all and also as a Tribute to the Legend. Here you go with the detailed recipe....
Friends, today I'm sharing a very easy and healthy drink recipe. Some dried figs were lying with me from a Dry Fruit Gift Box I received during Ramadan. Well well, so I've not made this drink today, rather it was made few days after Eid. All the dry fruits were used up in making Turri - Dry Fruit Sorbet during Ramadan, except the dried figs in it. Didn't know what to do with these figs, did some google search and found this easy to make and yet a healthy milkshake, do read below......
A frozen packet of sweet corn was lying in my freezer for a week now. Usually I buy it to make Instant Sweet Corn Masala whenever I crave for some jhatpat snack. But due to some toothaches problem doing rounds in my life, it remained in the freezer untouched. When the 'Google Search: Reunion' Ad went viral, I was reminded of the sweet corn lying in the freezer and the dialogue 'roz shaam ko hamne wahan patange udani, aur uske baad jaake Yusuf ki dukan se Jhajariya chura ke khaani' and the response of his mumbai waali poti is Jhajariya??? same like mine, I too was wondering what jhajariya was.... her google search result gave this definition Jhajariya is a delicacy of Indian origin made of corn, milk, ghee and sugar garnished with raisins and nuts. Then started my search of recipes but I was not able to find one. Lubna Karim of Yummy Food informed me that she has got this recipe on her blog. From there I got to know that it is also spelled as Jajaria and when I did google search with this spelling, I found whole lots of recipes out there. I went through many of them and finally did some mix and match and made this sweet corn halwa or Jhajariya... Its really an easy recipe and tastes great.... have a look friends and you too will be hooked... :)
This time it was a long weekend in Bangalore due to Raj Utsav Day on Friday. Usually this happens very rare that a public holiday falls on this day, but whenever it does, I make it a point to perform Jumah Prayers in Mosque, have a hearty lunch in Hotel Empire, roam the commercial street and finally return home dead tired. Saturday and Sunday, were spent strolling in various malls, so finally I was free today and made this Black Forest Gateau. I made it mini, coz of two reasons, first, if the taste didn't come out well, its only me who has to eat the entire stuff and secondly if it is a complete disaster, the entire thing will be dumped in the garbage which I do with a heavy heart. The Gateau did turn well as it was received positively by Amaan....
Dussera holidays of 2 weeks ended just 12 days back and the school declared Diwali holidays from today itself till Monday. These holidays have lined up so soon and Amaan is having great time playing with his toy trains and watching his favorite cartoon, Doraemon. Surprisingly, lots of holiday homework were given for the Dussera vacations even for the tiny tots. Amaan who is yet to turn 3 in November has enjoyed doing all his homework as most of them were activities of some kind or other. One of the activity was making a vegetable sandwich, photographing it and sticking it to the activity sheet. I had chopped all the vegetables required and he just has to apply the butter and arrange it following my directions followed with some salt and pepper and covering it up with another piece of bread. I was amused with this particular activity as the foundation for recipe creation and photography is laid down right in Nursery. No wonder many of these kids will grow up and will become a full time Food Bloggers or will take up part time as stress busters.... hahaha
Coming to today's recipe, the main ingredient is bread again, but in a different form to go perfectly for breakfast.... see below

Demanding for the basic infrastructure in your locality is a big task now in India. We had been asking for these amenities like road, street lights, sewage for quite sometimes now, but has fallen on deaf ears. This does not mean that I stay on the outskirts of the city but in the most happening and well developed area of Bangalore. All the residents in our neighborhood decided to hold a peaceful satyagraha to awaken the politicians and take immediate action. We have got a 1 km lane going inside from the main road with a number of high rises along this stretch and leading to one of the most reputed international school of the city, yet this road cries for attention. With these high rises and 2 reputed schools on this stretch, you can imagine the number of cars and buses plying on this road throughout the day. If it rains the muddy road gets slippery making it impossible to venture out of home or if it doesn't then dust makes its way in the atmosphere, we are not spared in either ways. Ok, coming to the satyagraha that was organized yesterday, it was a very peaceful one with a large number of people including kids gathered in solidarity for their demand, we had an official from the BBMP confirming us that work will be started before November 10th. Fingers crossed. Various media people were also present on the ground and this event made its way in the papers and news channels. When I browsed Times of India paper today, there was a coverage of this event with pics and guess what??? my son's pic was captured, looking right into the camera, hahaha... (the kid in the blue t-shirt)... :)
The weather going chill and raining every now and then over here, I made this tomato soup, the easy way, to keep myself warm. Have a look at it....

Hello all, its time again for another esteemed guest on my blog and today its Fajeeda from Faji's Hot Pot. A very big welcome to you dear. Today, I've Ambreen from Simply Sweet 'n Savory as my guest. Myself belonging to the North Indian State of UP, I find Ambreen's recipes going along with my taste buds. Naturally I was attracted to her blog and scanned it completely. She has got a wonderful collection on her space. Today she has sent me a very innovative and mouthwatering recipe, lets have a look...
Salam and greetings all! My name is Ambreen. I blog over at " Simply Sweet 'n Savory " where I share my favorite sweet and savory recipes.
Firstly, a big thanks to Razina for the invite to guest post here. I recently came across Razina's lovely blog. She asked me to guest post anything related to baking. As I love to bake, it was hard to say no. Most of my baking recipes are quite simple ( nothing fancy at all ) and easy to make, with easily available ingredients.
Here's a recipe of quick and easy slice with buttery biscuit base, strawberry jam filling and a crisp coconut topping. A delicious sweet treat, perfect for afternoon tea or as a snack.

Hi friends, today I am going to share with you a very traditional recipe from my native - UP. It is a legacy passed onto me from my mom, who used to make it very often inspite of staying abroad. It is so delicious and mouthwatering, that it gets eaten piping hot as each batch is prepared. In my place it is prepared with both the vegetarian and the non-vegetarian stuffing. For veg they use grounded chana daal and for the non-veg, qeema is used. Some other day I'll make daal stuffed faras and will share a detailed recipe here. I personally don't like the daal stuffing and make it only with the qeemas. It is so wholesome that it can be had for lunch or dinner. It goes well as a snack too. It is very similar to the momos and I call these The UP Style Momos or the desi momos. What do you think guyz, read and let me know.....
Hello friends, its time for another guest on my blog. Today, I've Sowmya from Nivedhanams. If you wander through her blog you will get to know the many mouthwatering and yummy vegetarian recipes that she excels in. I am one of the biggest fan of her blog. She is going to show me and all you readers out there a rather difficult recipe in baking - Croissant. For our easiness, she has given a pictorial representation of each steps which makes it easy for a beginner like me to follow. Here goes the recipe...
