Qeema Matar Aloo | Minced Meat with Peas and Potatoes

Qeema Matar Aloo is a yummy combination of all my favorite ingredients - Qeema (minced meat), peas and potatoes.

It is a very popular and flavorsome dish that can be prepared with ease. I can savor it at any time of the day.

You can prepare it either dry or semi dry, as per your liking by adjusting the water quantity.


Qeema Matar Aloo

Ingredients: 
Mutton qeema - 1/4 kg
Onion - 1, medium, finely sliced
Potato - 1, medium, washed, peeled and cut into cubes
Peas - 1 cup
Tomato - 1, small, chopped
Yoghurt - 2 tbsp
Cardamom -2
Cloves -2
Bay leaf - 1
Cinnamon stick - 1, one inch
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Coriander seeds - 1/2 tsp, crushed
Green chillies - 2-3, finely chopped
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste

Method:
Heat oil in a kadhai and fry the potatoes till it starts turning brown. Remove

In the same oil add cardamom, cloves, bay leaf, cinnamon, cumin seeds and green chilli. Saute for few seconds

Add onions and fry till they turn translucent

Add qeema and saute on high heat till it starts changing colour. It will take few minutes

Add ginger garlic paste and tomatoes and cook till oil separates

Lower the flame and add whisked yoghurt, garam masala powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt. Cook for another 5-6 minutes

Add the fried potatoes and peas. Mix

Add 1 cup of water and bring to a boil

Cover and simmer till it is fully done

Serve with roti/phulka/rice
