10:46 AM
A very famous and nutritious drink to be best had when you are fasting or otherwise to create immunity in kids and adults alike. Harira is nothing but dry fruits powder cooked in milk. I prepare either Turri (dry fruits drink) or Harira for Iftar to break my fast as it boosts up our energy level. Look below for the recipe.......
Ingredients:
Almonds - 1 tbsp, chopped
Pistachios - 1 tbsp, chopped
Cashews - 1 tbsp, chopped
Walnuts - 1 tbsp, chopped
Foxnuts - 1 tbsp
Coconut - 1 tbsp, dessicated
Milk - 1/2 litre
Sugar - 2 tbsp, adjust according to preference
Cardamom - 2
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Method:
In a mixer add almonds, pistachios, cashews, walnuts, fox nuts and coconut. Make a fine powder and keep aside
In a pot, heat ghee and add the cardamoms
Add in the dry fruits powder and roast for few minutes
Add in the milk and keep stirring till it starts boiling
Add sugar and simmer for another 5 minutes
Serve hot/warm
Notes:
Instead of making the dry fruit powder you can make fresh batch by blanching all the dry fruits and making a smooth paste
You can make the dry fruits powder in bulk and keep in an airtight container in fridge. Use as and when required
You can use any dry fruit as per your choice
