How to make a perfect biryani

Here are some tips for making a perfect biryani:
  • The gravy for biryani should always be dry
  • While layering, follow this sequence: rice, mutton/chicken gravy, fried onions, coriander leaves and repeat
  • Drizzle 1 tbsp of milk over the top of the rice finally
  • Place a tawa below the biryani pot for dum
  • Leave the biryani on dum for 20 minutes and let it rest for another 5 minutes before serving
