Satyagraha for Road and an easy Tomato soup recipe
7:57 PM
Demanding for the basic infrastructure in your locality is a big task now in India. We had been asking for these amenities like road, street lights, sewage for quite sometimes now, but has fallen on deaf ears. This does not mean that I stay on the outskirts of the city but in the most happening and well developed area of Bangalore. All the residents in our neighborhood decided to hold a peaceful satyagraha to awaken the politicians and take immediate action. We have got a 1 km lane going inside from the main road with a number of high rises along this stretch and leading to one of the most reputed international school of the city, yet this road cries for attention. With these high rises and 2 reputed schools on this stretch, you can imagine the number of cars and buses plying on this road throughout the day. If it rains the muddy road gets slippery making it impossible to venture out of home or if it doesn't then dust makes its way in the atmosphere, we are not spared in either ways. Ok, coming to the satyagraha that was organized yesterday, it was a very peaceful one with a large number of people including kids gathered in solidarity for their demand, we had an official from the BBMP confirming us that work will be started before November 10th. Fingers crossed. Various media people were also present on the ground and this event made its way in the papers and news channels. When I browsed Times of India paper today, there was a coverage of this event with pics and guess what??? my son's pic was captured, looking right into the camera, hahaha... (the kid in the blue t-shirt)... :)
