French Toast

12:32 PM

Dussera holidays of 2 weeks ended just 12 days back and the school declared Diwali holidays from today itself till Monday. These holidays have lined up so soon and Amaan is having great time playing with his toy trains and watching his favorite cartoon, Doraemon. Surprisingly, lots of holiday homework were given for the Dussera vacations even for the tiny tots. Amaan who is yet to turn 3 in November has enjoyed doing all his homework as most of them were activities of some kind or other. One of the activity was making a vegetable sandwich, photographing it and sticking it to the activity sheet. I had chopped all the vegetables required and he just has to apply the butter and arrange it following my directions followed with some salt and pepper and covering it up with another piece of bread. I was amused with this particular activity as the foundation for recipe creation and photography is laid down right in Nursery. No wonder many of these kids will grow up and will become a full time Food Bloggers or will take up part time as stress busters.... hahaha

Coming to today's recipe, the main ingredient is bread again, but in a different form to go perfectly for breakfast.... see below

Ingredients:
Bread slices - 4, a day old bread or slightly hard
    Butter - 2 tbsp, melted
    Eggs - 2
    Milk - 2 tbsp
    Sugar - 1 tbsp
    Salt - a pinch

Method:
In a bowl add eggs

Add the milk, sugar and salt and whisk

Dip each slice of the bread on both sides, let it soak in the mixture, but don't leave it too long because it might fall apart if it gets too soggy

Lightly butter a frying pan and cook the bread slices on each side on a medium heat till the colour is nice and golden

Repeat with the remaining breads

Serve!!!
