Aamras Recipe | How to Make Aamras

Aamras is a very popular dessert from the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

It derives its name by splitting the word into two - Aam meaning mango and ras meaning juice, so basically Aamras means mango juice. Usually, Aamras is made using Alphonso mangoes, but you can use any sweet variety of mangoes. You can either peel and chop it or squeeze by your hands to extract the juice out of it.

You can enjoy Aamras as a dessert after a meal or with pooris for breakfast.




Aamras

Ingredients: 
Alphonso mangoes - 2 large, peeled and chopped
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Sugar - add according to sweetness preferred
Milk - as requiredv (optional)
Almonds, pistachios, saffron strands - for garnishing (optional)

Method:
In a blender, add the chopped mangoes, sugar and cardamom powder and blend everything to a smooth consistency

To make it little thinner, add milk and blend again

Pour in small bowls and chill in the refrigerator

Garnish with dry fruits and serve with pooris or even rotis
