Cabbage Pakoda Recipe | Cabbage Fritters
11:31 AM
Today I'm sharing a deep fried snack recipe that goes well for Iftar as well as a regular evening snack with a hot cup of tea/coffee. Usually I make Qeema pakoda everyday for Iftar, but yesterday I did not had qeema in stock, so had to make some alternative fried snack and ended up in making cabbage pakoda or cabbage fritters. This one was very easy and quick to make and tasted great. You can adjust all the spices according to your preference.
Ingredients:
Besan - 1 1/2 cup
Rice flour - 2 tbsp
Cabbage - 1 cup
Onion - 1/4 cup
Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Green chillies - 4-5, crushed
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Baking powder - a pinch
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp, finely chopped
Salt - to taste
Water - 1/3 cup approx.
Oil - for deep frying
Method:
Add all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix
Add water little by little and keep mixing till you get a very thick batter (cabbage will also leave some water and the batter will become runny)
Heat oil in a kadhai and deep fry the pakodas till it becomes golden brown and crispy from all sides
Remove and keep on a plate lined with a paper towel
Serve immediately!!!
