Cheesy Cigar Rolls
11:28 AM
Well, this is my mom's recipe which she used to make during Ramadan, we as kids used to finish it off immediately, sometimes fighting over for who had more :). She used to make it plain, with cream cheese or even chocolate filling, all of them tastes yummy!!! After years of staying away from mom, and now being a mom myself, I thought to give it a try and make it for my kid, so here it is....
Ingredients:
Cream cheese - as required
All purpose flour - 2 tbsp mixed with 5 tbsp water
Sugar - 1/3 cup
Water - 1/3 cup
Cardamoms - 3
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Oil - for frying
Method:
In a saucepan add sugar, water and cardamom and simmer for 10 minutes. Add lemon juice and boil for a minute
Place the cheese on one end of the samosa sheet and fold it in a triangular shape by bringing both the edges downward
Roll the pastry until the edge leaving a little portion
Apply the flour paste on it and seal the edges by rolling it completely
Repeat with all the samosa sheets
In a pan heat oil on medium heat
Add few rolls at a time and fry till golden. Flip and repeat the same
Remove and place on paper towels to drain extra oil
Drizzle sugar syrup over it and serve!!!
