Haryali Chicken

- Chicken - 1/2 kg
- Chopped fresh coriander, with stems - 1/2 cup
- Mint leaves - 1/2 tbsp
- Garlic paste - 1/2 tbsp
- Fresh cream or coconut cream - 1/2 tbsp
- Green chillies - to taste
- Yoghurt - 1/4 cup
- Oil - 1/4 cup
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Cardamom pods - 2
- Onions, chopped - 1
- Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp
- Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
- Green chilli, slit - 1
- Coconut cream or fresh cream - 1/4 cup
Method:
- Marinate the chicken in the green paste made out of the ingredients mentioned in the marination
- Heat the oil, add the cumin seeds and the cardamom pods and let them splutter
- Add the onions and fry till golden brown
- Add ginger garlic paste, fry for a few seconds and add only the chicken pieces
- Cook on high heat for about 5 minutes, then lower the heat
- Add the marinade, 1 tsp salt and the coriander and cumin powders
- Cover and cook for about 10-15 minutes on low, then add the green chilli and adjust water if needed
- Once the chicken is about done, add in the cream and adjust salt
- Simmer together on low heat for about 3 minutes
- Haryali chicken is ready to be served!!!
