Kofta Curry

Ingredients:


For Koftas:

  • Minced Meat - 1/2 kg
  • Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder  - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp, roasted
  • Black pepper powder - a pinch
  • Green chillies - 4, finely chopped and crushed
  • Coriander leaves - 1 small bunch
  • Salt - to taste
For Gravy:
  • Onions - 1, finely sliced
  • Oil - 3/4 cup
  • Ginger paste - 1/4 tsp
  • Garlic paste - 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp, roasted
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Green chilli - 1, slit
  • Coriander leaves - chopped, for garnishing
Method:
  • Mix all the ingredients required for the koftas and make into balls and refrigerate for about 30 minutes
  • Shallow fry them in a very little oil in a non-stick pan and keep aside
  • For the gravy, heat oil in a deep pot. Add the onions and fry till golden brown. Remove and blend it in the mixer
  • Now put the blended onions back in the oil, add ginger garlic paste
  • Mix the garam masala powder, dhania powder, red chilli powder and salt with little water and add it to the gravy and fry till oil separates
  • Add water. Once it simmers reduce the heat to low and gently add the fried kababs
  • Cover and simmer on low heat to cook the kababs through
  • Every once in a while, open the pot and gently swirl everything together
  • Once the kababs are fully cooked adjust salt and add slit green chilli
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve!!!
